When I go on ski trips, it’s easy for me to get discouraged. Let’s face it - I am NOT good at all! I’ve never had formal lessons and I’ve been known to fall getting off the lifts. Even better is watching me slowly “pizza slice” on the side of a hill while my husband and friends take turns flying off jumps. I feel like I’m holding up the group when they wait for me after they zoomed down each slope.
Needless to say, when I walked out this morning it was about five degrees and I was already bracing myself for a day of hard lessons. Then I looked up and had this pleasant surprise! A nice splash of color in an otherwise anxious, cold day.
This reminds me how much brightness stands out in our lives. Instead of getting frustrated, find the colorful little “balloons” floating around your life journey. Not everything will come easy to us, but being pleasant instead of bitter helped me to lighten up and enjoy my experience. ☀️
